PROS AND CONS OF CARPETS AND RUGS.

Usually, people would rather have normal flooring such as wood, but others prefer something different such as carpet, this brings a certain comfortable environment.

There’s always pros and cons to this, and we are going to show you the different perspectives on this, and explain to you the benefits of having carpet or normal flooring.

PROS:

  • Having carpet in your house is great, this gives your house a more comfy look and environment, making it more pleasant for you and your visitors.

  • One more point could be walking with no shoes, yes ! some people choose to have carpet because it is better to just walk wearing socks only and feel better and not too annoyed by having to wear sandals or shoes.

  • Some people do it because they find this is a good reason to obligate people to take off their shoes before entering your house, this way it can be cleaner.

CONS:

  • Of course, having a carpet instead requires more cleaning, so think twice about letting your kids eat and drink anything on the carpet or other places where they can spill and stain it.

  • Having pets might be another problem too, this means you have to be extra careful with them and think twice at the moment of acquiring a pet.

  • Vacuuming might be another thing you would have to do weekly, this so your carpet is clean and the dust goes away completely.

  • At the moment of leaving or selling the house, you are going to have to pay a carpet cleaning company or rent a special machine to clean the carpet and make sure it is completely clean.

COSTS.

Carpet is less expensive than laminate flooring, but before making a decision look at the pros and cons, and as mentioned before it is less expensive but in reality laminate flooring is less expensive over time.

DURABILITY.

As we said before overtime laminate flooring is cheaper, but this is because laminate flooring will last longer, It is fade-resistant, scratch-resistant and burn resistant, this is something you need to keep in mind at the moment of making this decision.

CONCLUSION.

In conclusion, both work depending on your point of view and circumstances, if you have little kids or pets you probably know which one you are going to go for.

If you are planning on saving money, the carpet might be an option but then if you are looking forward to saving money over time then the best option is laminate flooring.
